Bolts

Screws that connect machine parts to each other or a machine body to anywhere are called as screws if they are tightened and loosened with screwdriver, or called as bolts if they are tigthened and loosened with wrench. When bolts are tightened with spanner, they are tigther then screws. And they are bigger than screws.

Bolts are used for tigthening, generally with nuts. But screws are generally screwed onto a body.

Bolts and screws can be made by hand. But it would not be possible to meet the needs of industry in that way. Also more workmanship-material consumption would make screw production by hand more expensive. Therefore bolts and screws are produced automatically with special machines without removing chips from material. With this intention special machines are created that produce thousands of bolts and screws per hour.

All bolts cannot be used under same conditions. Some of them are used for very cold, and others for hot environments. Connections shall remain safe under these conditions too. That is why technical and meteorological features of working environment needs to be taken into account when producing bolts.
